Lucky Boy is a takeaway Chinese spot that brings a nostalgic touch to modern Sydney. Our challenge was reimagining the Chinese takeaway joint while ensuring it had mass appeal for potential franchisees and locals alike. We achieved this by creating a playful mascot—Lucky Boy—featuring a noodle bowl perched on his head, reminiscent of classic Chinese food memories. Further leaning into nostalgia, we paired bold English and Chinese characters with a vibrant colour palette inspired by traditional Chinese lanterns, adding a touch of whimsy and fun to the brand’s identity. Our focus on good fortune and luck is highlighted throughout the design, aiming to evoke feelings of positivity and prosperity. With Lucky Boy, our goal was to create an experience that transcends the traditional takeaway concept and invites customers to dine joyfully and discover new flavours in a modern setting.
